Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls will begin its Year 1 downloadable content rollout on November 2 with the arrival of Phoenix Cyclops. The fighter will be accompanied by Classic and Legacy costumes.
Developer Arc System Works revealed the complete Year 1 DLC roster via its official Twitter/X account, also sharing artwork by Marvel artist Peach Momoko. Following Phoenix Cyclops, Thor (Jane Foster) is slated for a winter 2027 release. Venom and a new Klyntar stage are scheduled for spring 2027, with Jubilee planned for summer 2027.
These characters and the Klyntar stage comprise the Year One Characters & Stage Pass. However, each piece of content will also be available for individual purchase.
Producer Takeshi Yamanaka explained the decision to feature a Phoenix version of Cyclops in a PlayStation Blog post. He stated that the development team opted for this interpretation to create fresher visuals and a more dynamic fighting style, aiming to offer players something unexpected. Yamanaka also noted that the team made the deliberate choice to hold back Phoenix Cyclops as DLC to ensure the character met specific quality standards before release, allowing for the incorporation of new gameplay elements.
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is currently available on PlayStation 5 and PC.
