Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls has experienced a rocky launch on PC, with widespread technical issues prompting widespread player dissatisfaction and even the uninstallation of the game by prominent fighting game community content creator Maximilian Christiansen, known online as Maximilian Dood. The PC port's performance problems have significantly impacted the player experience, leading to a sharp decline in user reviews on Steam.

Maximilian Dood shared his frustrations during an August 7 livestream, stating that the PC version's technical deficiencies were making the game "un-fun." He described the experience as watching the game "stutter like crazy," which detracted from his ability to engage with and enjoy the gameplay. "I don't think I can play this anymore," he remarked, noting that the persistent issues were diminishing his enjoyment of the game.

Following the stream, Maximilian Dood proceeded to uninstall Marvel Tokon from his PC library, citing the excessive frustration caused by the port's instability. He indicated that future streams would feature the PlayStation 5 version, despite the inconvenience of losing progress due to the lack of cross-progression. "The PC version is too frustrating," he reiterated before uninstalling.

Since its launch on August 6 for PC and PlayStation 5, the game has garnered significant criticism on its Steam page. The PC version's user reviews have fallen to a "Mixed" rating of 44% positive, and more recently, a "Mostly Negative" 39% in English. In contrast, players on the PlayStation 5 appear to be encountering far fewer issues.

Maximilian Dood corroborated the smoother experience on consoles, noting in a follow-up post on X/Twitter that matches on PS5 were consistently smooth, even with higher latency. He stated, "Tried Tokon on PS5 against only PS5 players and had a wonderful time. Even with 3 bar, 100+ ms, matches were smooth. Just going to stay away from the PC version completely until things get figured out."

Developer Arc System Works has acknowledged the issues and stated that they are investigating, but as of the end of the launch weekend, no substantial fixes have been deployed. The ongoing problems with the PC port leave the future of Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls on that platform uncertain, with the developer needing to address player concerns to regain trust and retain the PC audience.
