Arc System Works' new tag fighter, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, has received a substantial patch that appears to have resolved many of the technical problems players encountered on PC since its launch. The update targets prevalent issues such as micro-stutters, excessive CPU utilization, and frame rate drops, which had created a performance gap between PC and console versions of the game.
According to details shared on Marvel Tōkon's official social media and Discord server, these performance issues stemmed from periodic audio processing and unnecessary checks of audio devices. The patch also includes fixes for other bugs, including customisation settings resetting on game restart and incorrect display of online lobby button inputs.
In addition to the fixes, developers have provided PC players with two recommendations to further enhance performance: pre-warming in-game shaders and utilizing the auto-graphics setting. The auto-graphics option, previously a popular community workaround, has also seen improvements in this update.
Player feedback on social media and the official Discord indicates the patch has made a considerable positive impact. Users report halved CPU usage and smoother online gameplay, even across different regions. While some acknowledge that netcode may still require further refinement compared to other fighting games, the rapid turnaround on PC issues has been noted.
The improvements have led some players to revisit the game's Steam page. One reviewer, Rayden Belmont, noted that while the game launched in a nearly unplayable state, the recent 10GB patch on August 10th, 2026, has addressed the performance problems. Belmont subsequently changed their review from negative to recommended, calling Marvel Tōkon one of the best fighting games released. Márcel Tōkon: Fighting Souls launched last week and has since seen its PC performance issues addressed by a new patch.
