PC players of Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls are currently facing significant performance problems, including stuttering, online matchmaking difficulties, and heavy CPU strain. While developer Arc System Works has promised a forthcoming fix, the game's PC community has begun experimenting with unusual workarounds to alleviate the issues.
One in-game setting that has reportedly helped some players is the "set graphics automatically" option. For certain users, enabling this feature has yielded better performance than manually configuring the graphics to their lowest settings.
Beyond in-game adjustments, some players have found external solutions. A significant issue identified by players relates to frame pacing, where frame rates spike intermittently, negatively impacting performance, especially in online matches. A Reddit user known as KineticNinja suggests that the game's native frame rate cap is contributing to these problems. To address this, they recommend manually capping the frame rate to 60 FPS using external tools like RivaTuner, NVIDIA App, or AMD's respective software. Additionally, enabling ultra-low latency mode and V-Sync within the NVIDIA control panel for the Marvel Tōkon profile, while leaving in-game V-Sync disabled, has been reported to smooth out frame timing issues.
Perhaps one of the strangest suggested fixes involves running the Epic Games Store in the background, even if the game is being played through Steam. Some users have reported that this action alone helps to clear up PC lag. However, this method is not universally effective, with many players still experiencing persistent performance problems.
Despite the community's efforts, many players are still struggling with the game's technical deficiencies. Fortunately, Arc System Works has acknowledged the issues. An announcement on the official Marvel Tōkon Discord server confirmed that an update addressing PC performance and stability, including reduced lag and fixes for frame drops, is scheduled for release soon. With both community-driven solutions and developer intervention, there is hope that the PC version of Marvel Tōkon will soon provide a smoother experience.
