Head of Marvel Television Brad Winderbaum has clarified that Daredevil: Born Again was always intended to conclude with its third season. This statement addresses previous comments that may have suggested a different trajectory for the series.
Winderbaum explained in a recent interview that the plan was "always to culminate at [Season] 3." He drew a parallel to the original Netflix Daredevil series, noting that both are structured as three-season arcs. "They're kind of like trade paperbacks or collections that you can slot into your shelves, like these are two 3-volume sets, and then we will take a breath and figure out what's next for the character," Winderbaum said.
Actor Charlie Cox, who reprises his role as Daredevil, had previously indicated a similar sentiment at New York Comic-Con, mentioning greater planning and "emotional support" for Born Again compared to the abrupt cancellation of the original Netflix series. While the actors were informed at some point that Born Again would serve as a definitive conclusion, Winderbaum himself had suggested in early 2025 that the show was planned for annual releases, with potential for further seasons.
Despite potential shifts in planning over time, the current assertion is that the conclusion with Season 3 was the intended endpoint. The future of Daredevil in the Marvel Cinematic Universe beyond this series remains uncertain, though Cox has encouraged fans to continue supporting the character's return, playfully referencing the "Save Daredevil" campaign as a source of motivation for potential future resolutions.
