Weeks after the initial wave of Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks, Rockstar Games is facing another data breach. This time, a substantial 192 GB of data related to Grand Theft Auto 5 has surfaced, revealing extensive cut DLC plans, scrapped assets, and even early materials for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6.
This new leak dwarfs the 2023 data leak, which contained only around 4-5 GB of Grand Theft Auto 5's source code. Among the most significant discoveries is a large map of Liberty City, which was apparently intended for a Grand Theft Auto 5 DLC that never materialized. While some speculate this content was earmarked for Grand Theft Auto 6, there is currently no definitive proof to support this theory.
'Agent Trevor' and Other Scrapped Content
Details surrounding a scrapped "Agent Trevor" DLC have also come to light. This planned expansion would have seen the character Trevor Philips acting as a secret agent, akin to James Bond. Mission descriptions have surfaced online, hinting at activities such as torture, bomb diffusion, and jetpack escapes, with sequences set in a casino even including potential roulette minigames. Interior environments for these proposed missions have also been leaked.
The leak also includes a variety of cut vehicles from Grand Theft Auto 5, ranging from construction vehicles and a unique space rover-like contraption to a golf car, boat, and police car. Curiously, a 'dog with a wheel' is also listed among the cut assets, leading to speculation about its intended role.
Early Grand Theft Auto 6 Assets
Beyond the Grand Theft Auto 5 content, the leak contains very early assets for Grand Theft Auto 6, including maps and 3D building models. While some reports suggest these assets are from 2023, evidence points to them being from a much earlier prototyping phase of Grand Theft Auto 6, possibly dating back to 2015.
Further details emerging from the leak include unused dialogue, cut mission dialogue, and dialogue for an original ending scenario for Grand Theft Auto 5 where Trevor would have crashed into a tank of liquid nitrogen and become frozen. Extensive community efforts are underway on platforms like Reddit and X to collate and summarize the vast amount of information uncovered.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is slated for release on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, exclusively in digital format. The game is set to feature Vice City, a nudist camp, and will receive a special PlayStation 5 controller, which has already seen scalper activity.
