The ambitious Tamriel Rebuilt mod for The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind has launched its latest expansion, titled "Poison Song." This new content adds significant portions of the Morrowind mainland to the game, continuing the project's goal of bringing the entire province into the Elder Scrolls 3 experience.

Poison Song introduces the Orethan Fields, a new region located on the outskirts of Mournhold, the capital city. This area is described as featuring "lush gardens and bountiful fields," with visuals in the expansion's trailer suggesting a Japanese-inspired aesthetic, complete with manicured greenery and cherry blossom trees. This offers a stylistic departure from many of Morrowind's more arid environments.

A major feature of the Poison Song expansion is the ability for players to join Great House Indoril. This Dunmer house, to which the legendary Indoril Nerevar belonged, receives its own questline comparable in scope to the joinable houses in the base game. The expansion's narrative setup explains that the Indoril, once powerful supporters of the Tribunal Temple, have become scattered since the Armistice. Players will have the opportunity to aid Indoril Sandil in potentially restoring the house's former influence, exploring themes of forbidden heresies and Ashlander traditions.

Additionally, players can now enlist with the Temple Ordinators, Morrowind's distinctive golden-masked enforcers of the law. The mod offers three distinct Ordinator orders to join. The Order of Doctrine, focused on theological debate, is based in the Orethan Fields. In the city of Almas Thirr, players can join either the Order of the Watch, whose missions involve a conflict between Houses Indoril and Hlaalu, or the Order of War, which prepares players for potential conflict with Dagoth Ur.

Beyond these new additions, Poison Song also revamps the Sundered Scar region, which was damaged by Red Mountain, and updates quests within the Imperial-occupied city of Old Ebonheart.

Looking ahead, the Tamriel Rebuilt team has announced that development continues on future expansions. The next major update will be "Wealth Beyond Measure," which will complete the Hlaalu arc and flesh out the southwestern quadrant of Morrowind, including the metropolis of Kragenmoor. Following that, the team plans to begin work on a House Redoran-themed expansion in the northwest of the province.

The Poison Song expansion is available for download now via Nexus Mods and GOG. Players will need to own a copy of The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind, along with all its downloadable content, to install and play the mod.
