Pokémon Happy Meals are returning to McDonald's, with the fast-food company officially confirming the toys and cards that will be included in the promotion. The collaboration is set to launch in the U.S. on November 10 and will subsequently roll out to over 70 countries in the following months.
Each Happy Meal will come with one of 15 different Pokémon toys and two of 15 reprinted cards. The Happy Meal boxes themselves will feature designs for Pikachu, Torchic, and Umbreon. The toys are described as miniature versions of the boxes, each displaying the face of a particular Pokémon. McDonald's has stated that the promotion will expand to more than 70 countries with staggered launches continuing through February of next year.
While an official list of cards was shared on the Pokémon website, it differs from some of the cards that McDonald's and social media leakers have been circulating. McDonald's has revealed that some of the cards will be reprints featuring a special McDonald's numbering, M27, with seven of them being confetti holo. Images shared by McDonald's accounts and leakers have shown cards for Pikachu, Palafin, Mimikyu, Chandelure, Decidueye, Tyranitar, Zoroark, Wooloo, Snorlax, Eevee, Jirachi, Metagross, Absol, Hawlucha, and Lucario.
It is anticipated that the specific toys and cards will vary by region. For example, locations in Quebec will not receive the Happy Meal toys but will instead offer a Pokémon sticker and a mini booster pack containing four cards.
Both Pokémon and McDonald's have indicated that the promotion will last "as long as supplies last." However, unconfirmed reports from social media suggest the promotion in U.S. locations may run from November 10 through December 14.
