While Mega Man-themed items have been present since the season began, the character's skins have been notably absent until now. Epic Games has officially announced the upcoming cosmetics and a dedicated tournament.
The Mega Man Cup is scheduled for Tuesday, September 8, offering players a chance to unlock free Mega Man cosmetics before they are available in the Item Shop. The tournament will be a duos event accessible across Battle Royale, Zero Build, and mobile platforms. While specific rules are yet to be revealed, leaks suggest a focus on eliminations and survival.
Promotional materials for the Mega Man Cup strongly indicate that players will receive the classic Mega Man skin, with a Mega Man X alternative style also likely. Following the tournament, these skins are expected to appear in the Item Shop, potentially as early as Wednesday or Thursday.
Beyond the primary skin, participants can earn additional free rewards. Achieving a high rank in their region will grant the Mega Man skin itself. An emoticon featuring Mega Man can be obtained by earning eight points through eliminations and survival time. Furthermore, players can acquire the Override Buster Blast spray by accumulating 25 eliminations with the Mega Buster, or five eliminations on mobile.
Mega Man is not the only character from his universe making an appearance. A teaser video has confirmed that Zero, a character from the Mega Man X series, will be the second Mega Man-themed skin introduced as part of this collaboration.
