The Miami Heat will embrace the vibrant world of Grand Theft Auto 6 with a special "A Night in Vice City" event during their upcoming match against the Milwaukee Bucks. This one-night-only promotion, scheduled for November 18th, will see the home team debut an all-new uniform and play on a never-before-seen court.
The event appears to be a marketing collaboration between Rockstar Games and the Miami Heat, coinciding with the release of GTA 6. Crossover merchandise celebrating Vice City is already available on the Miami Heat store.
Recently, the Kaseya Center, home of the Miami Heat, was illuminated to signify the partnership between Rockstar and the team. This collaboration followed discussions with local officials regarding the extent to which Rockstar could utilize Miami in its promotional efforts.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is set in Leonida, a fictionalized version of Florida, with its central city being Vice City, a virtual representation of Miami. Within the game, the Kaseya Center is known as the Sahara Arena.
This marketing initiative by Rockstar is garnering attention from other game developers. Notably, one of the founders of the studio behind Kingdom Come: Deliverance recently commented on Grand Theft Auto 6's pricing, suggesting it could mark a significant shift in industry pricing standards. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has previously addressed speculation about GTA 6's price, stating that consumers pay for the value delivered and that the company aims to charge considerably less than the value provided.
Grand Theft Auto 6 will be available for $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition, which includes additional in-game content. The game is set to release on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles.
