Microsoft Announces Xbox Nano Controller, Available for Preorder Now

Microsoft has unveiled the Xbox Nano Controller, a compact and rectangular alternative to its traditional gamepad. The new controller is designed for enhanced portability and is now available for preorder from various retailers, with a release date set for November 4.

The Xbox Nano Controller maintains all the essential Xbox buttons but features a significantly smaller form factor. It measures just over five inches in length and weighs approximately 3.5 ounces, making it suitable for users with smaller hands or those who frequently travel with their controllers. Despite its size, Microsoft states it supports all 18 standard gameplay inputs.

This miniature controller includes a rechargeable battery and a programmable Action Button, which can be customized for shortcuts such as taking screenshots or capturing gameplay. Connectivity is handled via Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth, ensuring compatibility with the same devices as the standard Xbox controller, including Xbox consoles, PCs, Macs, and mobile devices.

The design of the Nano Controller features grips intended for comfortable pocket storage, contrasting with the larger grips of the standard Xbox controller. It sports a white-and-black color scheme with colorful ABXY face buttons. While the analog sticks appear shorter than those on the standard model, the disc-style D-pad remains consistent. The Xbox Nano Controller is priced at $49.99.
