Creator Mike Mignola is revisiting his signature horror universe with a new miniseries titled B.P.R.D.: Declassified, set to release in February 2027. The series will delve into an "occult cold war" that has been hinted at in previous Hellboy and B.P.R.D. storylines.
B.P.R.D.: Declassified #1, featuring cover art by Mike Norton, is co-written by Mignola and Chris Roberson, with art by Norton and colors by Dave Stewart. A variant cover for the first issue will be provided by Gabriel Hardman.
The official summary reveals that psychic B.P.R.D. agent Susan Xiang, last seen in 2025's The Shadow of the Golden Crane, will team up with astral projecting agent Victor Koestler. Together, they will investigate the mysterious disappearance of Henry Rouch, who vanished while working on a classified government project. The agents are expected to uncover supernatural circumstances and realize the case is more complex than it initially appears.
"B.P.R.D.: Declassified is a chance to pull the curtain back a bit and focus our full attention on what’s been going on in the shadows, and to see that the agents of the B.P.R.D. aren’t the only players on the board," Roberson stated in a press release. He added that the stakes are higher than Susan Xiang and her colleagues might suspect.
B.P.R.D.: Declassified #1 is scheduled for release on February 17, 2027. Preorders are available through local comic shops.
