Millie Bobby Brown, known for her role as Eleven in Stranger Things, has shared that she auditioned for the character of X-23 in the 2017 film Logan. Brown made the revelation in a video promoting Enola Holmes 3, explaining that the audition for the role in Logan took place when she was around 11 or 12 years old. She recalled screen-testing with Hugh Jackman, who portrayed Wolverine in the film, and admitted to being disappointed when she did not secure the part.

While Brown did not explicitly name X-23, the context of auditioning with Jackman strongly suggests it was the role of Laura Kinney, Logan's clone and daughter. Dafne Keen was ultimately cast as X-23. Reports indicate that Keen's audition process involved improvising a scene with Jackman and performing part of it in Spanish, adding depth to the character's portrayal and her relationship with Wolverine.

Brown's audition would have likely occurred shortly before the premiere of Stranger Things Season 1 in mid-2016. It is speculated that if her performance in the hit Netflix series had been publicly available at the time of casting, the outcome might have differed. However, Keen's performance is widely regarded as a significant strength of Logan.

Keen has since reprised her role as X-23 in the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine film, and her character may appear in future Marvel Cinematic Universe installments such as Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, given the expansive casting for those projects.
