Developer Bellring Games has released an update for its extraction brawler Mistfall Hunter, focusing on balance adjustments for the Withered Knight class and addressing a range of technical issues. The update, which went live on July 30, enhances the newest class, which was previously only available with a greatsword during beta testing.

The Withered Knight now wields a polearm and shield, a combination that has received several damage buffs and cost reductions in the latest patch. The Charged Dash ability sees a reduced energy drain and improved turning performance for its Tier-1 variant. Basic Attacks have seen slight damage increases for their first and third thrust hits, while the Spear Barrage’s damage multiplier has been boosted. The Rainbow Piercer ability benefits from a reduced energy cost and cooldown, and the Block action is now less costly to use.

Beyond class-specific changes, the update tackles a variety of bugs. Fixes include addressing visual discrepancies with the Sorcerer's Flameblade, resolving connection issues affecting console players, and patching game crashes. The developer has also ironed out problems with unresponsive keys when quickly closing the in-game guide UI, corrected key prompts in tutorials, and fixed an issue where summoning extraction points could incorrectly consume items. Various console-specific fixes are also included, such as addressing reconnect issues after disconnections, resolving display anomalies on PlayStation 5, and ensuring proper functionality with controllers for the Auction House, Loadout system, and Training Room settings.

Mistfall Hunter, which officially launched on July 29, has seen significant player engagement with nearly 30,000 concurrent players on Steam at the time of writing. This suggests a potential appetite for extraction-based games beyond the typical shooter format.

The Withered Knight is noted for its strong offensive capabilities, combining flanking and brawling styles. Its strengths include sustained pressure, significant burst damage via the Wither skill, and effective pursuit with dash attacks and a grappling hook, making it a formidable opponent even before the recent enhancements.
