Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, slated for release in October, has seen its branding appear on the French men's national football team bus, sparking speculation about Activision's marketing strategies. The prominent display of the Modern Warfare 4 logo on the team's luggage was noted by World Cup fans, though it remains unconfirmed whether this is an official Activision promotion.

This sighting follows other sports-adjacent promotional activities, with the game set to be playable at Fanatics Fest in New York City. Modern Warfare 4 is anticipated to be a major release in 2026, arriving shortly before Grand Theft Auto VI.

The game's narrative is set on the Korean peninsula, depicting an invasion by North Korea that threatens global stability. Players will assume the role of Private Park, portrayed by actor Young Mazino, while a concurrent storyline follows Captain Price in other regions. The official description states, "As Price’s off-book mission collides with the forces behind the invasion, the war spreads beyond anyone’s control."

Activision plans to offer a multiplayer beta prior to the game's launch, accessible through preorders. Notably, unlike its predecessors Black Ops 6 and Black Ops 7, Modern Warfare 4 will not be available on Game Pass at launch, a detail Activision has emphasized in its advertising.

In a significant move for the franchise, Modern Warfare 4 will also be released on the Nintendo Switch 2. This marks the first appearance of a Call of Duty title on a Nintendo platform since 2013's Call of Duty: Ghosts.
