This change means that players can now pause gameplay to attend to real-world needs, such as stepping away to care for a pet, grab refreshments, or simply use the restroom, without forfeiting their accumulated bonus experience time. The adjustment aims to provide a more flexible and rewarding experience for players utilizing Double XP.

In this video, several key developers discuss a range of topics that were central to the game's beta testing phases. These discussions cover critical gameplay elements such as time-to-kill values, the algorithms governing player spawning, and the user interface.
This announcement follows a prior update confirming that players will have the option to disable certain cosmetic skins in Warzone. While this particular feature is not yet confirmed for Modern Warfare 4 itself, it suggests a broader trend towards player customization and preference management within the Call of Duty ecosystem.
Modern Warfare 4 is scheduled for release on October 23 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Notably, the game will also launch on the Nintendo Switch 2, marking the first appearance of a Call of Duty title on a Nintendo console since Call of Duty: Ghosts in 2013.
