Modern Warfare 4 Update Makes 100% Completion Potentially Impossible

Less than a week after its launch, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 has introduced an update that may prevent players from achieving 100% completion. A recent adjustment to the game's Free-for-All mode has lowered the score limit, making it impossible to earn the required kills for a nuke killstreak and thus potentially blocking a significant in-game achievement.

According to an official post from Call of Duty Updates, two changes have been implemented for Modern Warfare 4's Free-for-All mode: the party size is now capped at two players, and the score limit has been reduced to 25 points to win a match. This adjustment directly conflicts with the Calling Card challenge that requires players to achieve a 30-killstreak to earn a nuke in a Free-for-All match.

This change effectively renders 100% completion unattainable for players who require the Free-for-All nuke for their overall achievement progress. Until Infinity Ward potentially revises the challenge requirements or reverts the score limit, players may find themselves unable to complete this specific task.

Modern Warfare 4 Multiplayer Faces Scrutiny

The adjustment to Free-for-All comes amidst ongoing discussions about Modern Warfare 4's new DMZ mode. Despite the mode being designed to offer a more strategic, slower-paced experience, early player feedback has highlighted concerns regarding its fast-paced player-versus-player combat, challenging solo play difficulty, and bugs affecting AI and overall game balance.

As is common with live-service titles, it is possible that Infinity Ward will address these issues early in the game's lifecycle. However, it remains uncertain whether the Free-for-All score limit will be restored or if the requirements for the nuke challenge will be altered.
