Monopoly Go is set to host a major crossover event with the long-running animated series The Simpsons, developer Scopely announced. This collaboration marks The Simpsons' first appearance in a mobile-exclusive game in 13 years and brings a wealth of new content and themed elements to the popular board game adaptation. The event is scheduled to run from June 3 to July 29.
During the crossover, players will be able to explore and build across multiple iconic locations from The Simpsons universe. The event integrates the show's characters, such as Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Mr. Burns, into the gameplay. Scopely collaborated with The Simpsons' creative team to incorporate numerous references and Easter eggs, including alterations to game mechanics like the "Go to Jail" square, which can now allow players to bribe Chief Wiggum for a chance at a larger reward, albeit with added unpredictability.
The event features several distinct components:
Episodes will serve as narrative-driven encounters that weave stories inspired by The Simpsons. These episodes will unfold across seasonal boards, unique sticker sets, and minigames, culminating in an animated short produced by the show's creative team.
Limited-time sticker sets will be available with each episode, drawing inspiration from recent Simpsons storylines. Collecting these sets will offer rewards such as collectible artwork and character journeys.
The "The Simpsons Run" will see a new Springfield character take over the Free Parking tile every two weeks, initiating character-specific gameplay segments.
"Shutdowns and Heists," core mechanics in Monopoly Go, will receive a Simpsons-themed makeover, introducing Springfield-inspired chaos and potential disasters.
Over 50 new Simpsons-themed "Chance" cards will be added, featuring memes, references, and catchphrases from the show.
Players looking to get a head start on the new content can find free dice links, which may assist them in navigating the newly themed game world.
