Indie developer ODIUS and publisher Loopr Partners have announced "My Cat Scattered Games: Tidy Videogame Supermarket," a cozy PC game focused on organizing physical game collections. The premise involves an in-game cat that has scattered a vast collection of video games, requiring players to pick them up, identify their platforms, and return them to the correct shelves.
The game features over 6,000 parody titles and consoles, including "Lovable Kombat," "Mega Bavario 64," and "Red Spirit 2," for systems like the "Kekstation 2" and "Y-box." In addition to tidying the store, players must also rescue their cat, which becomes trapped in a claw machine after causing the mess.
Organizing the scattered games involves placing up to three different titles and ten copies of each onto shelves, allowing for player-defined sorting strategies. As the store is reorganized, players can discover references and jokes inspired by various eras of video game history. The developer has stated that while players can unlock ways to sort more quickly, there are no failure states or ways to lose, emphasizing a go-at-your-own-pace experience.
