Harvey Randall's gaming journey began not with a bang, but with a desperate plea to his parents for a World of Warcraft subscription. The result was the creation of Leetman, a Human Rogue, around 2004-2006. While Randall technically had an Old School RuneScape character prior, his memories of it are non-existent, making Leetman his definitive first MMO character.
Randall admits Leetman was far from a skilled player. As a 10-year-old, he neglected to level his poisons and never reached the game's level cap. His adventuring primarily consisted of wandering through Un'Goro Crater. Despite these shortcomings, Randall managed to save up enough in-game gold for a mount, a significant accomplishment at the time that made him feel quite distinguished.
Leetman's tenure in World of Warcraft was eventually superseded by Earthborn, a troll shaman, with the release of The Burning Crusade expansion. Randall recalls Leetman fondly, even speculating that his character's aversion to using poisons might have stemmed from a sense of honor. Leetman has since been deleted, leaving his true motivations a mystery.
Randall's broader experience with games includes a strong affinity for RPGs, soulslikes, roguelikes, deckbuilders, MMOs, and unconventional indie titles. He also engages in tabletop role-playing games in his personal time. His early enthusiasm for WoW has evolved, and he now finds himself drawn to Final Fantasy 14, particularly expressing admiration for the character G'raha Tia.
