The co-op FPS Mycopunk, developed by Pigeons at Play, will exit early access on October 20, 2026. The game tasks players with joining a squad of robots deployed to alien planets to combat invasive fungal creatures. Missions vary from clearing enemy areas to more complex objectives such as building railguns to shoot down spaceships. Players are granted multiple lives per mission, allowing for solo play or forgiveness for squadmates who fall.
Gameplay involves careful dismemberment of enemies, as any remaining pieces of fungal matter can lead to the creature's survival or allow it to reform into more dangerous monstrosities. Between missions, players can return to a space station to customize loadouts, upgrade gear, play minigames, and interact with other characters. The game features a hexagonal grid system for weapon and class upgrades, requiring strategic placement of components to maximize effectiveness.
An early access version of Mycopunk is currently available on Steam. The game also received its Freeze & Fester update in August.
