The strategic trading card game landscape is expanding with the upcoming Naruto Card Game, set to launch in Summer 2027. Developed around the globally recognized Naruto franchise, the game aims to capture the strategic depth of the series with unique mechanics and original artwork. The franchise encompasses the original Naruto series, Naruto: Shippuden, and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.

The Naruto Card Game features a deck-building system centered around a "Leader" card, with players constructing a 51-card deck. Supporting cards fall into several categories: Character cards form the frontline, executing attacks and utilizing unique abilities. Chakra cards are essential for deploying ninjutsu, genjutsu, and taijutsu, serving as the game's resource system. EX Character cards represent powerful units that can turn the tide of battle once specific conditions are met. Summon cards are used to bring these impactful characters into play.

The ultimate objective of the game is to reduce the opponent's Leader's life points to zero. The color of a player's Leader card dictates the available strategies and card types that can be included in the deck.

Art is a significant component of the Naruto Card Game, with its roster of cards featuring a mix of original illustrations, artwork derived from the anime, and even contributions from Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto, providing callbacks to the manga's source material. Fan-favorite characters such as Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno, Jiraiya, and Itachi Uchiha are confirmed to be present in the card game.

Ahead of its Summer 2027 release, the Naruto Card Game will be playable at several international events. Demonstrations are scheduled for Gen Con 2026 in the United States from July 30 to August 2, followed by the Bandai Card Games Fest, which will host events in 11 cities worldwide starting in October. Further opportunities to experience the game include New York Comic Con 2026 (October 8-11) and PAX Australia 2026 (October 9-11), among other international gatherings in Germany, France, and Italy throughout October and early November 2026.
