Naughty Dog marked The Last of Us Day on September 26 with a series of announcements, including a crossover DLC for Ghost of Tsushima and new digital collectibles. The annual celebration, formerly known as Outbreak Day, honors the in-game date of the Cordyceps infection.
This year's festivities featured a collaboration with Sucker Punch, the developers of the Ghost series. Players can download a clicker-inspired armor set for Ghost of Yotei. This cosmetic content coincides with the launch of Ghost of Yotei: Complete Edition and its Echoes of Sekigahara expansion. Naughty Dog also revealed a new Bloody Clicker figure in partnership with Youtooz.
Further activities for The Last of Us Day included a charity stream supporting AbleGamers, a subway "ambiance" video, and discounts on The Last of Us titles on Steam and the Epic Games Store. PlayStation owners could also access new avatars and a themed background.
While Naughty Dog did not provide updates on the future of The Last of Us franchise, co-creator Neil Druckmann previously stated that the studio is "not done with The Last of Us" following the conclusion of the HBO adaptation's third season in 2027. The studio is currently working on a new title, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
