Prominent Kick streamer Neon has addressed speculation that Rockstar Games included a reference to him in Grand Theft Auto VI's recently revealed Netflix gameplay showcase. The highly anticipated footage, which debuted on Netflix, featured a side mission where the protagonist Lucia steals a car. Following the heist, a content creator emerges from the trunk and speaks to their viewers.
This fictional influencer bears a striking resemblance to Neon, sharing similar physical features and a comparable hairstyle, which led many viewers to believe Rockstar had included a nod to the streamer. Neon himself addressed the situation during a recent Kick stream.
"We made it! We fkin’ did it!” Neon stated from inside a car. “Shout out to everyone in the chat. I've seen some reactions: A lot of people weren't the happiest, a lot of people were showing support. Two streamers did text me. You know who you are, and I appreciate you. Thank you guys. ...Would a B-Tier streamer really be in [this game]? Nah, I’m just kidding. That is fkin’ sick, bro! Streaming is really taking over the game. I'm just so happy and blessed and grateful to even be seen like that, in that way.”
The alleged inclusion of a streamer character has drawn reactions from other prominent broadcasters, including Kai Cenat, IShowSpeed, and Jynxi, who expressed their astonishment at seeing content creators featured within the game. While Neon did not offer a definitive confirmation of his inspiration for the character, he expressed gratitude for the fan theories and the attention it brought.
This detail is one of several real-world parallels noted in Grand Theft Auto VI. Rockstar Games recently provided a 26-minute gameplay preview on Netflix, showcasing various aspects of the upcoming title, which is scheduled for release on November 19.
