Netflix is set to launch a significant influx of franchise content in August 2026, featuring the complete "Fast and Furious" saga, the entirety of the "Child's Play" and "Chucky" horror series, and other action-packed titles.

Alongside these blockbuster additions, August will also see the arrival of popular films such as "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," "Eighth Grade," "Ingrid Goes West," "Nightcrawler," and "Swiss Army Man."

The streaming service is further bolstering its library with two new original movies: the paranormal mystery thriller "The Last House," starring Greta Lee and Wagner Moura, and the crime drama "The Whisper Man," featuring Adam Scott and Robert De Niro.

Among the notable releases is "Ingrid Goes West," arriving August 2. This dark comedy stars Aubrey Plaza as an obsessive fan navigating the pitfalls of social media fame, with Elizabeth Olsen and Wyatt Russell in supporting roles. "Eighth Grade," directed by Bo Burnham and starring Elsie Fisher, also explores themes of social media and adolescence and will be available starting August 3.

"The Last House" debuts on August 7. Directed by Louis Leterrier, the film traps a married couple and their children within their home in a story described as a paranormal mystery thriller.

Also premiering on August 7 is "Ricky Gervais Alley Cats," a six-part adult animated series written by and starring Gervais. The show follows anthropomorphic cats as they reflect on life, drawing inspiration from classic British sitcoms.

August 14 will see the release of "Don't Say Good Luck," a coming-of-age dramedy co-produced by Adam Sandler, starring Sunny Sandler and Melanie Lynskey. The film follows a high school student dealing with family drama while preparing for her school musical.

"Swiss Army Man," the surreal dramedy from directing duo Daniels, is set to stream on August 28. The film stars Paul Dano as a man stranded on an island and Daniel Radcliffe as a corpse that aids in his survival.

Concluding the month on August 28, "The Whisper Man" follows a novelist whose son is kidnapped, forcing him to seek help from his retired police detective father. The film boasts a cast including Adam Scott, Robert De Niro, and Michelle Monaghan.

In addition to these feature films and series, Netflix will also add a variety of other titles throughout August, including "M3GAN" (August 24) and "Seal Team: Seasons 1-7" (August 18). However, several popular titles will depart, including the "Spider-Man" trilogy, "Ex Machina," and "Borat."
