Netflix has released the first trailer for The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth, a follow-up to Quentin Tarantino's 2019 film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The trailer showcases the expected blend of violent action and retro cool associated with Tarantino's work, featuring Brad Pitt reprising his role as former Hollywood stuntman Cliff Booth as he engages in various jobs within the film industry.
The story is set in 1977, eight years after the events of the previous film, where Cliff Booth encountered a notorious cult. The trailer also revisits a contentious moment from the original movie: Cliff's fight with Bruce Lee. This depiction drew criticism from some, including the Bruce Lee estate, who felt Lee was portrayed unsympathically and depicted as inferior to Cliff. Tarantino, in past comments, described Lee as "kind of an arrogant" individual.

David Fincher is directing The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth, marking his third consecutive project for Netflix after Mank (2020) and The Killer (2023). Tarantino, who wrote and directed Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, has penned the script for this sequel. This marks the first film he has written but not directed since From Dusk Till Dawn in 1996. Brad Pitt told Deadline that Tarantino opted not to direct this project, leading to Fincher's involvement. While Tarantino has not explicitly stated his reasons for not directing, it may align with his self-imposed "10 film rule," a commitment to retire from directing after his tenth feature. By his own count, Tarantino is at his tenth film, though he considers Kill Bill to be a single movie released in two volumes.
In addition to Brad Pitt, the cast includes Elizabeth Debicki (The Crown), Scott Caan (Ocean's Eleven), Carla Gugino (Sin City, The Fall of the House of Usher), and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Wonder Man).
The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth is scheduled for a limited two-week theatrical release in IMAX starting November 25, 2026, followed by its streaming debut on Netflix on December 23, 2026.
