Marvel Studios has released a new trailer for its upcoming tentpole film, "Avengers: Doomsday," offering fans a more extensive glimpse at the multiversal threat posed by Doctor Doom. The trailer debuted at Disney's D23 fan convention, providing millions with their first clear look at the footage previously shown to San Diego Comic-Con attendees.

The two-minute trailer highlights the introductions of Reed Richards and Sue Storm of the Fantastic Four, who separately acknowledge the grave danger presented by Doctor Doom. Glimpses of various heroes, including Ant-Man, Captain America, and Thor, show them embracing loved ones as Doom ominously warns them about leading "stolen lives." A confrontation between Thor and Doom is shown, with Doom easily repelling the God of Thunder, demonstrating his immense power. The trailer culminates with Doom seemingly raising a vast army of damaged Sentinels.

The official synopsis describes "Avengers: Doomsday" as a film that "follows beloved heroes from three distinct universes as they’re set on a deadly collision course and face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered."

Following a series of films that have seen middling box office performance, Marvel Studios aims to recapture the broad cultural and commercial success of "Avengers: Endgame." The film brings together characters from over a decade of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Fox era of X-Men films. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo are returning to helm the project, tasked with reigniting widespread interest in the franchise.

The expansive cast includes Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Sebastian Stan as the Winter Soldier, Letitia Wright as Shuri, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent, Tenoch Huerta Mejía as Namor, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic, Joseph Quinn as the Human Torch, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as the Thing, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Florence Pugh as White Widow, Kelsey Grammer as the Beast, Lewis Pullman as Sentry, Danny Ramirez as Falcon, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Winston Duke as M'Baku, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden as Cyclops, and Channing Tatum as Gambit.
