Amazon will release four exclusive Marvel Legends Series action figures on October 1, each priced at $39.99 and available for preorder now. These figures offer a significant draw for collectors and Magic: The Gathering players alike, as each one includes an alternate art version of a card from the recent Magic: The Gathering Marvel Super Heroes Commander decks.
Marvel Legends and MTG Collaboration
The Black Panther figure, a detailed recreation of his comic book appearance from Secret Wars and Avengers, comes with eight accessories. These include a changeable head with and without the mask, four alternate hand poses, a Vibranium spear, a shield, and the Infinity Gauntlet. The figure features 20 articulation points for posing and stands approximately 6 inches tall. Other figures in the series include Dr. Doom in his 2099 appearance, Sue Storm as Malice, and a traditional depiction of Captain America, all with similar accessory collections.
The key appeal for Magic: The Gathering enthusiasts is the inclusion of alternate art cards. These cards are exclusive to the action figures and represent characters from their respective Marvel Super Heroes preconstructed Commander decks. This collaboration presents a dual benefit for Magic players who are also fans of the Marvel Legends line.
The Magic: The Gathering Marvel Super Heroes expansion was released on June 26, and physical cards and booster packs are still available through various channels.
