New PC Games on the Horizon: A Look at 2027's Potential Releases

As the gaming landscape continues to evolve, anticipation builds for the slate of new PC games slated for release in 2027. Several highly anticipated titles, including Fable, Exodus, and Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, are among the early headliners for the year, with more expected to be confirmed as development progresses.

Highly Anticipated 2027 Releases

The upcoming year promises a diverse range of experiences, from expansive RPGs to unique indie titles. Fable, the quirky fantasy RPG reboot developed by Playground Games, has seen its release window shift, with current expectations pointing towards a February 2027 launch on PC. Despite studio closures affecting other projects, Fable's director has indicated it remains a priority for Microsoft.

Archetype Entertainment, a studio founded by former BioWare veterans, is preparing to launch Exodus in April 2027. This ambitious space adventure appears to draw inspiration from the beloved Mass Effect series, aiming to capture a similar sense of epic storytelling and player choice.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, the concluding chapter of the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy, is also slated for an April 2027 release. This installment marks the first time PC players will be able to experience the full saga from its initial launch.

Meanwhile, Grand Theft Auto 6 is confirmed for consoles in 2026, but its PC release date remains officially unannounced. While speculation abounds, Rockstar Games has yet to provide a concrete timeline for the PC version, leaving players to hope it arrives sooner rather than later, potentially within the 2027 window.

A Calendar of Confirmed and Potential 2027 Titles

Beyond these major releases, a wealth of other games are scheduled or anticipated for 2027. January alone boasts over a dozen titles, including the tower-climbing horror game BrokenLore: Ascend, the demon-cleansing action of Armatus, and the return of the killing games in Danganronpa 2x2. The month also features Stranger Than Heaven, RGC's next crime drama, and Ananta, an open-world RPG with significant GTA-inspired elements.

February's lineup includes He-Man: Dragon Pearl of Destruction, a new entry in the Metro series with Metro 2039, and the highly anticipated Persona 4: Revival, a full remake of the classic PS2-era RPG. Other notable February releases include the hardcore RPG sequel Outward 2 and the quirky fantasy reboot Fable.

March is set to bring Trine 6: Together in Time, the latest installment in the co-op puzzle-platformer series, and Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember, Team Ninja's follow-up to their Three Kingdoms action RPG. Grave Seasons, a survival game that blends Stardew Valley's charm with supernatural horror, is also scheduled for March.

April promises Exodus and Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, alongside Mariachi Legends, a stylish metroidvania, and Pony Island 2: Panda Circus, a point-and-click horror title from the creator of Inscryption.

May's early confirmed release is Haunted Paws, a co-op cozy horror game where players take on the roles of dogs on a rescue mission.

Games to Watch for 2027 and Beyond

In addition to games with specific release dates, numerous titles are in development with a 2027 window or could potentially surprise players. These include Alara Prime, a competitive tactical FPS, and Arcane Eats, a card-slinging roguelite cooking sim. Blight: Survival aims to let players face medieval horrors with friends, while The Expanse: Osiris Reborn offers a sci-fi action RPG set in the popular universe.

Further down the line, and subject to change, are titles like Ark 2, the sequel to the dinosaur survival game, and Atomic Heart 2. Black Myth: Zhong Kui, a follow-up to the highly acclaimed Black Myth: Wukong, is also on the horizon. Bethesda's Marvel's Blade, an action game from Arkane Studios, and the much-anticipated Jurassic Park: Survival, set after the events of the original film, are among the other major projects to monitor.

Several studios are also working on ambitious projects with uncertain release dates. Hideo Kojima's collaboration with Jordan Peele, titled OD, is expected for Xbox. No Man's Sky developer Hello Games is developing Light No Fire, described as an even larger-scale game. State of Decay 3 continues the zombie apocalypse survival series, while Streets of Rogue 2 promises an immersive roguelike sandbox experience. Other notable titles include Deus Ex Remastered, a modernized version of the classic immersive sim, and Warhammer 40K: Dark Heresy, an investigative CRPG.

With a steady stream of announced titles and the potential for further surprises, 2027 is shaping up to be a landmark year for PC gaming enthusiasts, offering a wide array of genres and experiences to look forward to.
