The latest line of plush toys inspired by the Nintendo Switch 2 title Pokopia is experiencing high demand, with some items selling out shortly after their announcement. The collection features plush figures of Peakychu, Mosslax, and Professor Tangrowth.
Peakychu plushies are already sold out, a rapid sell-out attributed to the character's popularity stemming from a "surprisingly heartwarming story" in the game. The Mosslax and Professor Tangrowth plushies remain available for $34.99 each through the Pokémon Center website. The announcement of these plushies coincides with the "Wish Upon a Jirachi" in-game event, which runs from June 23 to July 8.
This event focuses on Jirachi-themed merchandise, primarily sleepwear such as pajamas and blankets. Pokopia, which launched on March 5, represents a departure for the series by embracing the life-simulation genre, drawing comparisons to games like Animal Crossing and Dragon Quest Builders. A review of the game noted it to be "wonderful, if sometimes lengthy," and "an earnest reminder to nurture our world and all the little things in it," provided players can overlook its "tedious chores and slowpoke pacing."
Developers Game Freak and Omega Force have outlined future content for Pokopia, including a new biome called Bubbly Basin scheduled for release in August. This update will also introduce the Dive ability, allowing players to explore underwater areas. The Bubbly Basin biome is expected to draw inspiration from Cerulean City of the Kanto region, suggesting it could be a substantial addition to the game's explorable world. The inclusion of the Dive move may also unlock previously inaccessible watery regions within the base game.
