The Pokémon Trading Card Game's latest expansion, Pitch Black, has introduced a new Slowpoke card featuring an unusual move named "All-You-Can-Yeet." This move, which is not present in the mainline Pokémon video games, allows players to discard any number of cards from their hand by expending a single Psychic energy. The mechanic can be used to prepare the discard pile for specific combo cards or to simply clear one's hand.
The name of the move has drawn particular attention from players. "Yeet" is a slang term generally understood to mean toss or throw. The usage of this contemporary slang in the TCG follows a trend of wordplay seen in other cards from the Pitch Black set, such as the Banette card's ability "Hide 'n' Sneak."
The Pitch Black expansion arrives amid a significant surge in the popularity of Pokémon cards. The Pokémon Company reportedly manufactured 10 billion cards in 2025, a number exceeding the global human population, yet demand continues to outstrip supply. Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has acknowledged the issues of card shortages and online scalping, stating that The Pokémon Company intends to address these problems, though specific measures have not yet been detailed. The increased demand has also led to a rise in thefts targeting trading card stores.
