Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can now access three new additions to the NES Classics library: Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom, Ikari Warriors, and R.C. Pro-Am II. The inclusion of these titles means that the entire classic Ninja Gaiden trilogy and both R.C. Pro-Am games are now available on the service.
Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom, released in 1991, was the final entry in the original NES series. Its addition alongside the previously available Ninja Gaiden and Ninja Gaiden II completes the trilogy for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. Similarly, R.C. Pro-Am II, which launched in 1992, joins its predecessor, R.C. Pro-Am, making the full racing series accessible.
Ikari Warriors, the oldest of the new additions, first appeared in arcades in 1986 before its NES port arrived in the U.S. in 1987. The run-and-gun action game is noted for its historical significance as one of the era's high-grossing arcade titles and played a role in establishing developer and publisher SNK in Western markets.
This expansion brings more complete classic series collections to the Nintendo Switch Online service.
