Nintendo has revealed additional pre-order incentives for the upcoming remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, introducing region-exclusive bonuses that go beyond the previously announced foil-covered edition. A particularly distinctive option is available to Canadian consumers who pre-order early from EB Games, who can receive a special slipcover for the game case. This slipcover is designed to replicate the iconic box art of the original The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo 64, offering a retro aesthetic.
While this bonus offers a nostalgic appeal, it comes with a regional limitation. It is exclusively available to Canadian customers through EB Games. The notes also mention that Canadian consumers generally pay a higher price for games, with the physical version costing the equivalent of $79.25 USD, compared to $69.99 USD in the United States.
In the United Kingdom, pre-orders placed directly through Nintendo will include a 3D replica of the Spiritual Stones, a set of key items Link collects throughout his adventure. Another UK-specific pre-order bonus offers a small keychain replica of Link's ocarina. These UK bonuses are described as less appealing than the N64-style slipcover, and some have already sold out.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake is scheduled for release on November 5. Alongside the game, the Nintendo Switch 2 – The Legend of Zelda – 40th Anniversary Edition hardware will launch on October 29.
Separately, availability for the themed Nintendo Switch 2 console pre-orders remains a challenge for many consumers. Retailers such as Amazon and Target have experienced multiple restocks since pre-orders opened, with Amazon reportedly making new stock available 22 times in a single day. Despite these restocks, the console often remains listed as sold out. Nintendo has advised customers on methods to secure hardware pre-orders, while unofficial resale markets also present an option for obtaining the console.
