Nintendo is set to host an unprecedented two consecutive Nintendo Direct presentations next week, beginning with a special broadcast dedicated to The Legend of Zelda's 40th anniversary. This Zelda-focused showcase is scheduled for September 8 at 7 a.m. PT / 10 a.m. ET / 3 p.m. BST and is expected to run for approximately 30 minutes.
The Zelda Direct aims to celebrate the franchise's four decades, and while specific content remains unconfirmed, expectations include updates on the rumored The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for Switch 2, which has been a subject of speculation since March and officially acknowledged in June. The presentation may also offer further details on Nintendo's broader anniversary plans, and potentially a trailer for the Legend of Zelda movie.
Following the Zelda event, a general Nintendo Direct will air on September 9 at the same times: 3 p.m. BST, 7 a.m. PT, and 10 a.m. ET. This second presentation will focus on games coming to Nintendo Switch 2 during the winter season and will last for 45 minutes. Additionally, a Nintendo Treehouse: Live session is slated to follow the general Direct, running for approximately 110 minutes. This dual Direct format, coupled with an extended Treehouse segment, marks the first time Nintendo has organized such a concentrated series of information reveals.
