Nintendo has provided guidance for consumers struggling to acquire the 40th-anniversary Legend of Zelda Nintendo Switch 2 console, which has seen widespread pre-order sellouts across major retailers. The company suggests utilizing its official Nintendo Store app and exploring in-person pre-order options at select GameStop locations.

On the official Nintendo page dedicated to the Zelda 40th-anniversary Switch 2, a banner indicates that the collection is currently unavailable but promises an announcement when stock is replenished via the Nintendo Store app. While the "Find Retailers" feature notes online unavailability, it does direct users to nearby GameStop stores that may be taking in-person pre-orders.

The Nintendo Store app is presented as a key tool for staying updated on restocks. Users can favorite products of interest, and by signing into their Nintendo account and enabling notifications, they will receive alerts when items are back in stock. The console and its accessories are expected to be prominently featured on the app's main page.

Several accessories and special editions related to the anniversary have also faced stock issues. The foil cover version of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remains available for pre-order, but the base Pro Controller, the Pro Controller with a kickstand, the 40th-anniversary carrying case, and the screen protector are all currently sold out. Retailers such as Amazon and Target have exhausted their pre-order stock, though retailers like Best Buy indicate the console is "coming soon." Nintendo's messaging suggests that further restocks at these major retailers are probable.
