Nintendo has announced it will provide free repair services to individuals in areas impacted by the recent Kumamoto earthquake in Japan. This offer is valid until February 1, 2027. In addition to the repair service, Nintendo is donating 50 million yen to the Japanese Red Cross Society to aid in relief efforts.

The company extended its "deepest condolences to all those affected by the Kumamoto Earthquake of Reiwa 8" via its official social media channels. The Kumamoto earthquake, which struck southern Japan on July 28, 2026, was a magnitude 6.8 event. Reports indicate the quake resulted in at least 38 fatalities and over 120 injuries.

Nintendo's support follows similar contributions from other companies. The Pokémon Company has donated 100 million yen to relief efforts, and Sony has committed 50 million yen, which will be distributed through a joint relief fund with Save the Children Japan and the Japanese Red Cross Society.
