Nintendo has announced Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, a new entry in the motion-controlled sports series, slated for release on October 22. The game aims to expand on its predecessor, Switch Sports, by offering a greater variety of activities and incorporating elements reminiscent of the original Wii Sports.

Nintendo Switch Sports Resort will feature 12 distinct events at launch. These include returning favorites like Archery, Table Tennis, Tennis, Skateboarding, Power Cruising, Thumb Wrestling, Prop Plane, Boxing, Golf, Volleyball, Bowling, and Basketball. A Jump Rope activity is also mentioned, though described as a warm-up rather than a competitive sport. The game will also bring back the ability to explore Wuhu Island, a staple from the Wii Sports era.

The gameplay utilizes one or two Joy-Con controllers per player, relying on motion controls for most events, with some, like Skateboarding, incorporating analog input. Players can choose to play as either a customizable Sportsmate character, introduced in Switch Sports, or a traditional Mii, offering a classic aesthetic for those nostalgic for the Wii era.

Nintendo Switch Sports Resort is scheduled to launch on October 22 for the Nintendo Switch.
