Nintendo is gearing up for the theatrical release of its live-action The Legend of Zelda movie, slated for April 30, 2027, by initiating a significant promotional push that includes a new line of toys. The company has entered into a multi-year licensing agreement with Hasbro, the toy manufacturer, to produce merchandise featuring characters from the beloved franchise.

Hasbro will begin releasing new toys based on Link, Zelda, and other characters from Hyrule in 2027. Fans can expect a preview of the upcoming merchandise as early as July 23, when Hasbro plans to unveil three six-inch figures at San Diego Comic-Con. The specific characters and their aesthetic inspiration—whether drawn directly from the film's portrayal or from their iconic game appearances—have not yet been detailed.

Billy Lagor, President of Hasbro Toys and Board Games, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership. "For decades, The Legend of Zelda franchise has captivated fans through its deep lore, unforgettable characters and enduring sense of discovery," he stated. "By combining Nintendo’s iconic storytelling with Hasbro’s leadership in action and role-play, we’re delivering toys that invite fans to play, explore and forge their own epic adventures."

This collaboration suggests Nintendo aims to replicate the success of the Mario movie franchise by making Zelda characters a prominent presence in toy aisles, especially if the film performs well at the box office. Regardless of the movie's reception, the agreement promises new collectibles for Zelda enthusiasts.
