Nissin is introducing a new line of Cup Noodles designed to be prepared with cold water. This marks a significant departure for the instant noodle product, which has historically required boiling water for preparation.
Dubbed "Chilled Cup Noodles," the new product employs a patented "cold rehydrate method." According to Nissin, users can simply add refrigerator-temperature water to the cup, wait for five minutes, and the noodles will be ready to consume. This innovation aims to provide a convenient meal option for those in a hurry or experiencing hot weather conditions.
The initial launch in Japan will feature two flavors: Spicy Kimchi and Salt Lemon. These noodles are specifically engineered for cold water preparation, promising a "firm yet smooth texture." For the first time in its 55-year history, Nissin states that these particular Cup Noodles "are not meant to be eaten with hot water."
No information has been released regarding a potential international release for the cold-water Cup Noodles. The company announced the new product on its website, with the release date set for July 20 in Japan.
