No Man's Sky has received a new horror-themed update titled Forsaken, arriving shortly after last month's Cosmos update. This latest content drop from Hello Games, available now on all platforms, aims to explore the "darker side of the universe."
Players can now search for haunted technology and biological horrors to trade with eccentric merchants. Braving the more harrowing regions of space is required to acquire these items. The rewards for trading these goods include new seasonal items, such as "creepy and organic" shipbuilding components like alien cockpits and other unusual modules. Additionally, new character cosmetics are available, including larva tank helmets and worm-like multi-tools.
Beyond the seasonal additions, Forsaken also introduces several quality-of-life improvements. These include UI enhancements like an improved radial menu, an option for a minimal HUD, and various accessibility adjustments. A notable new feature allows players to warp directly to any star visible from their cockpit.
The Forsaken update launches as No Man's Sky becomes available on iOS. This follows the Cosmos update, which enhanced space exploration by allowing players to approach stars, build space stations, and explore derelict spacecraft. The consistent stream of substantial free updates for No Man's Sky continues, even as Hello Games develops its next project, Light No Fire, a planet-simulation RPG.
