Ubisoft has confirmed that no other remakes of Assassin's Creed titles are currently in active development, despite the positive reception of "Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced."
In a recent update post, the publisher stated that its development teams are prioritizing the creation of new entries in the franchise, featuring "new settings and stories." This includes projects that have not yet been publicly announced, as well as known titles like "Codename Hexe."
Ubisoft acknowledged the fan desire for remakes of beloved older titles such as the original "Assassin's Creed," "Assassin's Creed 2," and "Assassin's Creed 3." However, the publisher explained that the process of remaking "Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced" was a significant undertaking. Rebuilding existing systems, integrating new elements, and balancing legacy content with modern innovation presented substantial challenges.
While the door is not entirely closed on revisiting classic titles in the future, Ubisoft emphasized that the focus is currently on the next generation of Assassin's Creed experiences. The publisher reiterated its commitment to delivering new games across its major franchises, including Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and Ghost Recon, over the coming years.
"Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced" was released in July and received a 9/10 review from IGN, praised for updating the original game to contemporary standards. Its final major content update, which included New Game+ and Nightmare difficulty, was released earlier this week.
