Nolan North, the voice actor behind Uncharted hero Nathan Drake, has expressed his willingness to reprise the role for a potential Uncharted 5, especially with reports suggesting a new installment is in development. While Sony has not officially announced a new game, Naughty Dog is reportedly working on various projects, including an Uncharted title potentially helmed by Shaun Escayg, director of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
North stated that if a new Uncharted game were to be made, it "would be one of the biggest games ever." He emphasized its potential commercial success, noting that "it just depends if Sony wants to make money." He also drew a parallel to the film industry, suggesting that a new Uncharted game should aim for quality akin to well-received sequels, rather than a less popular entry like Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Despite the decade since Uncharted 4 concluded Nathan Drake's story, fans remain eager for new entries. North himself indicated he is actively trying to stay in shape for any potential call to return. "I can't see a scenario that I would say no," he remarked, reflecting on his positive experiences working on the franchise with Naughty Dog.
This sentiment comes amid speculation that Naughty Dog might be developing multiple games, with fans hopeful for continuations of both The Last of Us and Uncharted series. The long gap since the last Uncharted title could allow for a fresh narrative, potentially exploring the adventures of Nathan Drake's daughter, Cassie.
