Nurse Harrow has officially been added to the hero roster in Deadlock, following a recent community voting event tied to the 'City Never Sleeps' update. This addition comes after a staggering 110 million votes were cast across the entire event.
While Nurse Harrow ultimately secured a place, she initially appeared to be a less popular choice among some players. Valve revealed that only 22,194 players exclusively voted for her. However, the commitment of her supporters was underscored by one player who cast precisely 1,000 votes for the support character, demonstrating significant dedication to her inclusion.
Interestingly, players who voted for Nurse Harrow demonstrated a higher win rate compared to those who voted for other heroes. This suggests a particular aptitude among her fanbase within the game.
The voting round saw close competition, particularly between Baba and Solomon for the second-place spot. Other heroes introduced during this period included The Rat King, Solomon, Deadman Danny, and Violet. The 'City Never Sleeps' update also brought a visual overhaul to the game's city environment.
Beyond hero selection, the voting event highlighted player engagement. A total of 36,236 players participated in every round of voting without selecting the winning hero of that round, with the exception of Nurse Harrow as the final option. Only 847 players managed to vote in every round and select the eventual winner each time, indicating a small number of highly predictive voters.
These community-driven events are a significant draw for Deadlock, fostering player interaction and influencing game development. The frequency of future similar events remains uncertain, as Valve typically progresses at its own pace.
