Nvidia's graphics card prices have officially risen, with the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti now costing more than the original MSRP of the RTX 5070 Ti. Data compiled by Tom's Hardware indicates that median prices across nearly all Nvidia GPUs have climbed in recent months.

While higher-end cards like the RTX 5090 and 5080 have also seen price hikes, the most substantial increases have occurred in the mid-range segment. The median price for the RTX 5070 has jumped to $899, a 36% increase from its June median of $659. The RTX 5060 Ti with 16GB of VRAM is now priced at $804.99, marking a 39% rise from its June median of $569. These figures are particularly stark when compared to their original MSRPs of $499 for the RTX 5070 and $429 for the RTX 5060 Ti, meaning these cards are now 57% and 61% more expensive, respectively.

Retail listings on platforms like Newegg reflect these price increases, with the cheapest RTX 5060 Ti 16GB variant shown for $779. A few RTX 5070 models are available, including a low-profile PNY version for $749, though its price is anticipated to rise.

These price surges are occurring amidst a broader industry trend of increasing hardware costs. Unlike previous GPU price fluctuations often tied to cryptocurrency mining, current price hikes appear to be industry-wide. This trend is further evidenced by recent price increases for the Steam Machine, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5. The increased demand for memory driven by artificial intelligence development is cited as a primary factor, with reports suggesting that major memory manufacturers have already sold through their production capacity for 2027, indicating that price relief may not be imminent.
