Bethesda has released a new promotional video for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 release of Oblivion Remastered, featuring veteran Elder Scrolls voice actor Wes Johnson. Johnson, who voiced numerous characters in Oblivion, including Sheogorath, returns to portray the mad, cheese-loving Daedric Prince in a lighthearted video. In the footage, Johnson, in character and costume as Sheogorath, records lines in a studio and playfully interacts with a sound technician, expressing bemusement at the prospect of re-recording familiar dialogue. The video serves as a humorous marketing piece, also highlighting Johnson's recovery from a recent severe medical emergency. While the video has been met with positive reactions for showcasing Johnson's performance, many comments from players express a desire for continued support for the PC version of Oblivion Remastered. Reports indicate that the PC version suffers from various technical issues and bugs, some of which have persisted since the original 2006 release of Oblivion, while new problems have also emerged. Players note that the game has not received significant updates for over a year, with the last patch, version 1.2, released more than 12 months ago. This lack of post-launch support has led to a decline in recent Steam reviews, shifting the overall rating from Mostly Positive to Mixed, despite the game's enduring popularity. The community hopes that the upcoming Switch 2 launch will prompt Bethesda and developer Virtuos to address the outstanding technical concerns on PC.
