Bethesda may bring performance optimizations from The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered's Nintendo Switch 2 release to other platforms. The studio announced it is looking into applying these improvements following persistent player feedback about issues on PlayStation, Windows PC, and Xbox.

Oblivion Remastered launched on Switch 2 this week and has reportedly run smoothly due to a number of optimizations. This contrasts sharply with the game's release on other platforms in April of last year, which was marred by significant performance problems. Players on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox have frequently reported issues such as constant frame rate dips, stuttering during open-world traversal, and frequent crashes.

Despite several post-release patches, these performance problems have continued to affect players. In response to a celebratory post about the Switch 2 version on X, the official Bethesda Game Studios account stated, "We've heard your feedback asking for an additional patch for Oblivion Remastered. The Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game has a number of optimizations that we are looking into bringing to other platforms, and we will share more when we are able."

While Bethesda has not provided a timeline for a potential patch, players are eager for improvements that would allow for a more stable experience. This news comes as Xbox CEO Asha Sharma recently visited Bethesda Softworks and described the upcoming Elder Scrolls 6 as "incredible," amidst protests by unionized workers regarding recent layoffs.
