Old School RuneScape's latest content update, Wyrmscraig, has introduced a new island with a quest, a repeatable boss, and other additions. However, players utilizing the game's sailing skill have encountered an unexpected navigational hazard: a narrow river leading to the Wyrmscraig Cavern dungeon that easily causes boats to become stuck.

The mechanics of sailing in Old School RuneScape require players to be moving forward to steer, making it simple to wedge a vessel between the shorelines. User Joseei shared on the game's subreddit that their friend became stranded in this manner, attracting a crowd of onlookers who offered jokes rather than assistance. Similar instances of players getting their sloops wedged, accompanied by jeering players on the beach, have been documented.

Ironically, the game itself warns players about this potential issue. During the questline 'Fallen From Grace,' an NPC named Cormac advises caution, stating, "don't make the same mistake they did. Make sure t' use something on the smaller side, else you'll get into trouble on the rocks." The OSRS wiki page for Wyrmscraig Cavern also notes that the cave is too small for a sloop to be navigated directly, though players can still dock via the 'Summon Boat' spell to use teleportation.

Despite these warnings, players continue to attempt direct navigation, leading to the amusing maritime mishaps. The sailing skill's integration has inadvertently contributed to the game's emergent antics, with screenshots of these stuck boats becoming a source of amusement for the community.
