One Man's Epic Quest to Read Every Halo Novel Ends in Solitude

Brian David Gilbert embarked on an ambitious project on July 30, 2019: to read every novel in the Halo series. He has now completed this monumental task, but the journey has left him with an unexpected consequence: a distinct lack of conversational partners eager to discuss the intricacies of the Halo universe. The project, documented in a Polygon feature titled 'I read every Halo novel and became the Master Chief of loneliness | Unraveled,' highlights the unique isolation that can come with deep dives into niche fandoms, even as a beloved franchise like Halo continues to evolve with entries like Halo Infinite.
