The One Piece Card Game is set to feature new artwork from Yoshitaka Amano, the renowned artist most celebrated for his contributions to the early Final Fantasy titles. This collaboration will see Amano design new art for Loki and Shamrock cards, which will be included in the game's upcoming Booster Pack Vol. 18, scheduled for release in November 2026.

The announcement was made during One Piece Day '26, where, alongside reveals for new movies and the live-action show, the card game received several updates. While Booster Pack Vol. 18 will introduce new cards for characters like Franky and Nico Robin, the inclusion of Amano's art for Loki and Shamrock stands out as a significant highlight.

Amano has a long and distinguished career in anime and video games. His distinctive character designs and iconic artwork were fundamental to the visual identity of the first six Final Fantasy games. He continues his association with Square Enix, contributing logos for newer Final Fantasy installments. In 2025, Amano also created new artwork for crossover cards in Magic: The Gathering.

These new One Piece Card Game cards are not direct crossovers that reinterpret characters as Final Fantasy figures, but rather feature Amano's unique artistic interpretation of existing One Piece characters. This collaboration offers a fresh perspective on Loki and Shamrock, distinct from the established style of One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda.

Booster Pack Vol. 18 is expected to be widely available in November 2026. Bandai Namco has reportedly taken measures in Japan to address scalping issues, which may help ensure the availability of these unique Amano-illustrated cards.
