Overwatch 2 is set to implement major reworks for two of its long-standing heroes, Roadhog and Sombra, addressing years of player feedback and criticism. The announcements were made during the opening ceremony of BlizzCon 2026.
Sombra will be reimagined as a support hero, a significant shift from her previous damage-oriented role. While specific details regarding her new abilities and how they will function in a support capacity remain undisclosed, the change signals a fundamental alteration to her gameplay identity within Overwatch 2's roster.
Roadhog will also undergo substantial modifications aimed at making him a more cooperative team player. Game director Aaron Keller indicated that the upcoming changes will specifically target aspects of Roadhog's kit that have been a source of frustration for players, particularly his infamous hook ability. The exact nature of these adjustments has not yet been revealed.
Further specifics on the reworks for both Sombra and Roadhog are expected to be shared as development progresses. This publication will provide updates as more information becomes available.
